The effectiveness of a Lincoln integrated marketing agency’s campaigns has been recognised twice in this year’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.

Lava, which offers design, digital, public relations and social media marketing services to clients in the public, private and third sectors picked up two Gold awards at last night’s prestigious black tie ceremony in Leeds (28th November).

The Lincoln-based agency’s integrated marketing campaign for SO Festival 2012 on behalf of East Lindsey District Council was judged Best Event. Lava also received a Gold in Best Use of Social Media for its work for Milk4Childminders, part of Cool Milk.

Lava’s innovative social media marketing campaign for Milk4Childminders achieved national recognition from PRWeek, but more importantly helped the company build a strong relationship with the nation’s childminders, generating a significant increase in sales over a short period of time. The judges commended Lava’s comprehensive subject and target audience research, which undoubtedly secured the great success of the campaign. A very impressive range of engagement tactics, with strategic implementation, produced fantastic results for the client.

Lava’s hard working, creative and engaging integrated marketing communications campaign for SO Festival, featured a high risk, high impact publicity stunt which put the national media spotlight on Skegness and SO Festival, successfully increasing audience numbers and consumer spending in the resort. Judges were impressed by the very brave media tactics used, which helped SO Festival to grow and widen its impact, not only regionally but also on a national scale.

“We had a great night at the PRide Awards. Everyone at Lava works incredibly hard to help their clients achieve ther objectives. We don’t set out to win awards, we set out to do our best for the organisations that choose to work with us,” said Lava managing director Matt Hammerton. “However, it’s an amazing feeling when our efforts receive recognition from our peers. It’s really satisfying to know that a vastly experienced panel of judges have looked at our campaigns and believe our work is amongst the best in the country.”

CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, commented: “The Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals from across the regions. The exceptional quality of entries received this year is a real testament to the thriving industry which exists here in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK regions and nations and to win an award is a great achievement.”

The CIPR PRide Awards, sponsored nationally by Precise, PRWeek and RedBrand/Specialist Speakers, receive entries from freelancers, consultancies and in-house teams across 12 UK regions and nations. The judging process for the PRide Awards is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners. The 2013 Chairs of Judges, Gill Dandy FCIPR, Senior Consultant at The Centre for Strategy and Communication, and Chris Genasi FCIPR, Senior Consultant at APCO Worldwide, assisted in ensuring a fair and consistent judging process.
